Environmental club takes to Petrolia for community clean up

Kaitlyn Ellwod and Sarah Land of LCCVI’s Earth Heroes club were out in Victoria Park Friday cleaning up garbage. Ten of the club’s 26 members cleared debris from the school grounds, at the club’s community garden on Glenview Drive and in Victoria Park as part of its Community Service Day. Next week, the club will be doing the first pickup of recyclables at the school. Recently, the school has not had recycling bins in the classrooms, however the environmental club arranged for blue boxes in all the rooms and will be collecting the recyclables.
