The season is over for the PJHL’s Petrolia Flyers.

Chris Fryfogle’s group fell 4-1 to the North Middlesex Stars before 432 fans last night at the Greenwood Recreation Centre Thursday . The Stars win the best-of-seven Yeck division quarter-final in four straight games.

After the visitors scored at 14:12 of the first period to take the lead, Caleb Kennedy tied the game a little over two minutes later to tie the game after 20 minutes. North Middlesex gave the Stars a 2-1 lead in the second intermission and iced the contest with a pair of third period tallies.

Ethan Everaert made 32 saves and ended the series with a save percentage of .903.

The Petrolia loss also ended the junior careers of Daniel Gibson, Bailey Moffatt, Cam Hackett and Wil O’Leary-Dilosa.
