LCCVI students advance to SWOSSA

April 18, 2024

Tyler Collins, Ryan Shaw and Elijah Robinson of LCCVI have all qualified for the SWOSSA badminton championship next Tuesday at St. Francois-Xavier in Sarnia.

Collins qualified in the boys’ singles competition with a sixth place finish while Shaw and Robinson finished sixth in the boys’ doubles bracket at the LKSSAA tournament this week.  The top six in each event advance to SWOSSA.

Meantime, Delaney Appledoorn and Ava Joris of North Lambton also moved on.  They qualified with a fourth place finish in the girls’ doubles competition.

Firefighters to be demoted for missing live fire training

Sarnia police investigate after human remains near Highway 40 and Lasalle Line

Human remains have been found in the area of Highway 40 and Lasalle Line, near the Aamjiwnaang First Nation.  Sarnia Police said Saturday there will be an “increased police presence in the area for several days” while the scene is searched.
