Flyers surge in the third to beat Dresden

Owen Peters’ power play goal at 11:30 of the third period was the game-winning tally as the Petrolia Flyers beat the Dresden Jr. Kings, 5-3 in PJHL exhibition play Thursday night in Watford.
Caleb Kennedy, with his second of the game, and Dylan Demeulenaere also scored in the final frame for the Flyers who rallied from a 3-2 after two periods to score three unanswered goals in the final frame. Lucas Rogers had Petrolia’s other goal.
Elijah Grant was the winning goaltender.
Sarnia’s Ty Golden took the loss for Dresden.
The teams will play a rematch in Dresden next Friday night, September 6 before Petrolia closes out its preseason with a game against Dorchester in Watford on September 8.
