Petrolia Flyers dominate in first playoff game with Lucan

The Petrolia Flyers began the PJHL playoffs firing on all cylinders in a 7-0 win over Lucan in game one of their best-of-seven Yeck Division quarter final.

The home team was credited with 72 shots in the victory at Greenwood Rec Centre Thursday.

Tanner Hull’s goal in the opening minute of the game was all the Flyers needed to register the win. Cam Davidson, Jake MacLean, Parker Davidson, Noel Sanderson, Ryan Richardson and Dylan Demeulenaere also scored for Petrolia.

Ethan Flintoff and Andrew Jaques each had three assists while Tobias Iantorno and Owen Peters both contributed a pair of helpers.

Elijah Grant (below) earned the shutout with 22 saves.l

It was Petrolia’s first playoff shutout since current Petrolia Squires goalie Jakob Knowles blanked the Admirals in Amherstburg in Feb. 2020.

Game two is schedule for Lucan on Saturday night at 8 with the third game set for Greenwood on Sunday afternoon at 3:20.
