Charges laid after Walpole Island gun incident

A 38 year-old is facing nine charges after a break in at the Walpole Island First Nation.

Lambton OPP were called to a home on the island Friday around noon along with the Walpole Island Police Service after a weapons call.

Police say a man went into the Tecumseh Road home, brandished a firearm and then left.

Officers arrested one person without incident and seized a firearm.

Police have charged a 38 year-old from Walpole Island with nine offences including break and enter, pointing a firearm, assault with a weapon, using an imitation fire arm while committing an offence and two counts of failing to comply with a prohibition order.

David Isaac has been remanded in custody and will be back in court Tuesday.
