Just one win from OFSAA.

That’s the rallying cry as the LCCVI Lancers head to Essex this afternoon (Monday) for the Girls SWOSSAA Hockey Championship.

Coach Scott Watson says the team is ready for the game which, if they win, gives the Lancers a berth at the OFSAA championship.

LCCVI beat Wallaceburg Wednesday, paving the way for today’s match up.

It’s a rematch of last year so “we’re going down with a little bit of hunger,” said Watson after the Lambton-Kent championship game.

And, he says, the girls have beat Essex in tournament play once this year already.

“And the way the girls played today, it will be phenomenal… If the girls play up to their potential, we have a shot at OFSAA.

“But we know we’re up against a tough team.”

The game starts in Essex at 1:30 pm.
