LKM MP closing her Wallaceburg office as riding boundaries set to change

March 10, 2025

Lambton-Kent Middlesex MP Lianne Rood is closing her office in Chatham-Kent.

In a social media post March 3, Rood said she “made the difficult decision” to close the Wallaceburg office, citing the coming changes to the riding boundaries.

Last year, the ridings across Canada were redistributed. Lambton-Kent-Middlesex has been split into three different ridings, Sarnia—Lambton—Bkejwanong for the Lambton Voters, Chatham-Kent Leamington for the voters in Chatham-Kent and Middlesex-London for those in the Middlesex portion of the riding.

Rood will be running in the Middlesex-London riding when the next election is called. It’s widely expected to be this spring. Sarnia-Lambton MP Marilyn Gladu has been tapped to run in the new Lambton riding.

In the meantime, Rood said the office in Strathroy and the Chatham office of MP Dave Epp would be available to help her current constituents in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex which currently includes the communities of Wallaceburg, Dresden, Bothwell and Thamesville.

“It has been an honour to serve as your federal representative these past 6 years, and I am thankful for the support you have given me. I know Chatham-Kent will be in good hands with your new representative following the next federal election.”
