Big crowds take in Petrolia’s Canada Day finale

Five players with Lambton connections selected in OHL draft

Jake Murray of the Huron-Perth Lakers was the first player with a local flavour to selected in the OHL Priority Selection on Friday. The Grand Bend-area product was taken 12th overall by the Erie Otters.
Lakers teammate Matthew Henderson of Sarnia was selected 17th overall by the Kingston Frontenacs and Corunna’s Johbn McLaughlin was tabbed 21st overall by the Windsor Spitfires despite an injury plagued season with the Lambton Jr. Sting. Kane Barch of Grand Bend and the Huron-Perth Lakers was chosen 22nd overall by the Kitchener Rangers despite recently being named to the U.S. National Development team.
And, Eamon Edgar was selected by the Barrie Colts in the second round, 35th overall.
Edgar and Henderson both have family ties to Petrolia.
Edgar had an assist in Chatham’s lone goal in a 3-1 loss to Stratford on Friday night. He has two assists in two games as an affiliated player with the Maroons.
