London woman faces impaired charge after crash near Plank Road

A London woman is facing an impaired driving charge after an accident on Plank Road.

Sarnia Police were alerted to a crash in the McGregor Side Road/Plank Road area around 5 am Wednesday from an iPhone Crash Detection alert.

Police found a black car upside down in a ditch with “significant front-end damage.” police say it had travelled a considerable distance off the road before ending in a ditch partially submerged in water.

A 24-year old from London was found in the car with minor injures.

Police observed signs of impairment and say they found “several empty cans of Twisted Tea” in the vehicle.

The driver was arrested, taken to hospital for treatment and a blood sample was taken to determine her blood alcohol levels.
