James Grant and Meagan Munro won big at SWOSSAA in Lasalle Wednesday.

Grant won the Senior 1500m race with a time of 4:07.63, 0.62 better than the second place finisher Elliott Lester of Holy Names. He’ll head to the West Region Championships in London next week. Grant also placed eighth in the Senior 400m.

Meantime, Munro won the Junior 80m Hurdles in a very tight race with only 1.11 second between Munro and the last runner.

There were also a number of Lancers who placed second in their events.

Darius Land placed second in Senior High Jump with a leap of 1.75m behind Dresden’s Jeremiah Zomerman who jumped 1.95m.

Jamison Helps placed second in Junior Shot Put with a throw of 12.91, just six centimetres under the first place finisher.

Hunter Campbell threw the discus 43.77m in the Senior division. Carter Blackmore of Sandwich Secondary won the event.

And Kole Chapman placed second in the Junior 100m Hurdles with a time of 14.53.

Xander Knapp placed fourth in the 100m Hurdles and fifth in the Novice Long Jump with a jump of 14.53.

Hunter Kedwell placed sixth in the Senior Javelin with a throw of 41.80.

Katelyn Nicholson placed sixth in the Senior High Jump and the LCCVI Women’s Junior 4x100m with a time of 53.90.
