LCCVI girls capture LK soccer title

The LCCVI Lancers senior girls soccer team beat Great Lakes seven-nil in the LKSSAA AA final on Wednesday afternoon to capture their second title in the last three seasons. 

The Lancers took a commanding lead in the first half with Olivia Minten netting two goals. Myla Bell and Noelle Edgar scored to extend the lead to 4-0 before halftime. 

Minten capped off her second hat trick of the season with a goal in the second half. Madison Japp rounded out the scoring with a pair of second half goals. Shelby Hewitt recorded a shutout for the fourth consecutive game. 

The Lancers have won four straight games, outscoring their opponents 18-nil in that span. 

They’ll face the Windsor-Essex champions in the SWOSSAA AA final next Thursday. Their opponent has yet to be determined.
