Brooke-Alvinston residents will get a chance to hear about what is likely one of the largest housing developments in the community in decades.
June 19, Lambton County planners will hold a meeting on a new subdivision fronting on Nauvoo Road and Railroad Street which will have 244 housing units.
The notice of the meeting shows some of the land has to be rezoned to allow
the units. The subdivision contains 109 single family homes, and 135 townhouses.
Brooke-Alvinston councillors saw the preliminary map Thursday with Councillor Craig Sanders
commenting that the homes were crammed in on small lots.
Mayor David Ferguson said the developer was intentionally “keeping them cost effective – small houses, small lots – so people can afford them.”
The public meeting will be at 4:30 pm.
