Alvinston hosts the Memorial Cup

One of Lambton County’s favourite sons brought the Memorial Cup to Alvinston Thursday.
Mark Hunter, general manager of the Memorial Cup Champion London Knights and Oil Springs area stopped with the iconic trophy at the Inwood Variety Store to visit super fans Fred and Donna Oriet and then at Armor’s Ale House in Alvinston. Fans had a chance to talk with Hunter and pose for photos with the Cup.
The Knights London Knights won their third Canadian Hockey League championship June 1 with a 4-1 win over Medicine Hat in the Memorial Cup after coming within 22 seconds of winning in 2024.
