Second change machine theft reported in Petrolia

Lambton OPP now say there have been two thefts from change machines in Petrolia.

On July 31, OPP reported a man with a small build, dark brown and white goatee and carrying a backpack, damaged the change machine at Aqua Shine and then took money from the machine on July 24. He left the scene immediately.

Aug 5, OPP revealed there was a second incident on July 17. Police said around 3:20 in the morning someone went into the King Street laundromat, damaged a change machine and stole about $3,000 in change.

Suspect in July 17 Petrolia theft

The person fled the scene immediately after the incident.

Police say the suspect in the July 17th incident is described as:

  • Male
  • Dark brown and white facial goatee
  • Carrying a black backpack with beige diamond patch
  • Wearing brown cargo style pants, black hooded sweater with green t-shirt over top, and black shoes

The police also released a description and photo of the suspect in the July 26th theft.

Over 1,800 traffic charges laid on long weekend in southwestern Ontario

The Independent West Region OPP officers laid 1,815 charges following 2,107 traffic stops across the region during the Civic Holiday long weekend traffic campaign.
