The six best senior AA baseball teams in Ontario will again be in our area this weekend vying for an OBA championship banner.

All but one of the contests will be played at Canton Park in Wyoming.

The host Cattlebarons will begin defense of its 2024 AA championship when they take on the Beamsville Yellow Jackets on Friday night at 8 pm at Canton.

Wyoming won the title last year with a win over New Lowell in the final and also captured the Senior B banner in 2023.

New Lowell, near Barrie, opens this year’s tournament against Woodslee at 5 pm at Canton while Tecumseh will do battle with Kincardine on Friday at 5 pm at Morrison Field in Petrolia.

Games continue in the double elimination format on Saturday and Sunday at Canton Park in Wyoming.

Corunna is representing the WCBA at the B tournament in Leamington this weekend and Port Lambton will fly the local colours at the C event in Port Hope. Wyoming will host the 13U OBA D tournament next weekend.
