United Way’s goal $1.49 million for Sarnia-Lambton

August 25, 2025

The Independent

The United Way hopes to raise $1.49 million in Sarnia-Lambton this year.

It’s the same amount the local charity has raised since 2022, when the charity tried to raise $1,650,000 to meet the needs of the community.

“Achieving this goal will ensure continued support for 28 local programs delivered through 16 partner agencies, serving thousands of people across Sarnia-Lambton,” says Ryan Doyle, Communications Director. Early fundraising has already raised $350,000, ahead of the campaign’s unofficial kick off – The Sarnia Sting Black and White game Wednesday.

“This year will be a challenging one to keep programs fully funded. With inflation, program
budgets are tighter than ever; however, if we can come together as a community and reach
our $1.49 million goal, we can continue investing in cost-effective, preventative social services
that make a real difference in Sarnia-Lambton,” said Pamela Bodkin, executive director of the United Way.
