They host the Strathroy Rockets on Thursday at Pat Stapleton Arena. Game time is 7:10.

Captain Will Hull of Oil Springs leads the Rockets.  The veteran rearguard is entering his fifth season with Strathroy.

Under the guidance of new head coach Mike Bondy, Sarnia looks to improve on its 10th place finish in the conference last season with a record of 17-29-4.

Among transactions by the Legionnaires leading up to the home opener, they’ve signed Sting under-18 draft choice Olivier Romain, Russian forward Anton Smirnov and goaltender Justin Audet while releasing last year’s leading scorer Carter Fogarty to Pickering of the OJHL.

Meantime, Watford’s Blake Verberne has signed with the Chatham Maroons. The former LCCVI and Lambton Jr. Sting goaltender played last season with Dresden of the PJHL.
