The countdown is on to the inaugural season for the Petrolia Squires in the Ontario Elite Hockey League.

The team has announced it will open the season on Oct. 17 against the Tavistock Royals. Petrolia’s first road game is against the Flames in Delhi on Oct. 25.

Nine of 10 home games for the Squires will be played on the traditional Friday night at 8:30. The exception is a game against Elora on Saturday, Jan. 3 at 7 p.m.
