Flags end September with a loss to Kings

A trio of unanswered goals in the second period was the difference as the Dresden Jr. Kings downed the Mooretown Flags, 4-2 before a crowd of 273 fans at the Moore Sports Complex Saturday.

Former Sarnia Legionnaire Colton Graham led the winners with a pair of goals while brother Cameron and Maclean Norris had the others for Dresden.

Casey Schouten and Lucas Ross scored for the Flags.

John Chartrand took the loss for Mooretown making 35 saves.

Mooretown, now 3-3 on the season, travels to Lakeshore Friday and hosts the Amherstburg Admirals Saturday night.

Bright’s Grove library construction expected to start in July

Heather Wright/The Independent Construction on the $5.8 million upgrade at the Bright’s Grove Library will start a little in sooner than expected. And that means the Gallery in the Grove will close Saturday. Since 2017, Lambton County, which provides staff and operates the library, and the City of Sarnia, which owns the building, have been talking about expanding the library.
