Retirement, training deadlines leave Oil Springs without fire chief on July 1

Rombouts wins SWOSSAA Golf Championship

LCCVI’s Kassandra Rombouts is the 2025 SWOSSAA Girls Golf Champion.
Rombouts shot the lowest girls’ round of the day with a score of 69 at Erie Shores Golf & Country Club in Leamington on Monday.
This is her first SWOSSAA title after winning LKSSAA in both 2024 and 2025.
Rombouts will represent LCCVI at OFSAA in Brampton on October 15 & 16.
Meantime, members of the LCCVI tennis team dominated the LKSSAA North tournament Oct. 2.
Yarko Zelenchuk captured the Boys Single title, Noelle Edgar and Hallie Whiting took the Girls Doubles title and Matt Stek and Makenna Wheeler were Mixed Doubles champions.
Cole VanKlinken and Kam Keating placed second in Boys Doubles and Irene Acostamoreno was third in the Girls Singles. She also placed third in the Mixed Doubles event with Reed VanKlinken.
The winners were competing in Chatham for the LK title today (Oct. 8).
