Lambton OPP are investigating after a dressing room at the Greenwood Recreation Centre in Petrolia was trashed.
Petrolia Minor Hockey Association officials notified parents of the problem Sunday in a social media post. Officials didn’t indicate exactly what happened but one of the dressing rooms was vandalized while players were on the ice.
“The matter is currently under investigation by both the OPP and PMHA.”
Julie Bullock, director of Parks and Recreation for Petrolia, says the room itself was not damaged, but the players equipment was tampered with.
“We want to remind all coaches and players that any outside door that is propped open must be fully closed before heading onto the ice, and all dressing rooms should be locked whenever they are not in use,” PMHA officials said adding they are working with police and the town to find the people who caused the damage.
