North Lambton Grad cracks OCAA top 15

Emma Munroe of Lambton College placed 15th in the women’s 6K final at the OCAA cross-country championships in Mt. Hope on the weekend. The finish makes her the only Lambton runner to head to the nationals next month.
The North Lambton grad finished in a time of 25:24.
Teammates Riley Health and Ruby Dodman were 43rd and 48th respectively.
Plympton-Wyoming’s Justine Abbott was third across the finish line for her St. Clair Saints team and 24th overall.
St. Patrick’s grad Adam Voisey was the top local finisher in the men’s race placing 24th for Fanshawe in a time of 28:33 over the 8K course. The Falcons took the team bronze in the men’s competition.
Owen McDermott, Ryder Laur and Stuart Blunt of Lambton were 40th, 49th and 52nd overall.
Lambton’s team of Munroe, Heath, Dodman, McDermott, Laur and Blunt finished ninth in the mixed team competition.
With her time, Munroe has qualified for nationals to be held on Prince Edward Island on Nov. 8.
