Petrolia’s visual reminder to remember

The Independent
It has become a tradition for the Margaret Stokes IODE and Royal Canadian Legion Branch 216 Petrolia.
Each year before Remembrance Day, members gather at the Hillsdale Cemetery in Petrolia to erect over 400 crosses at one of the entrances. They signify the Petrolia and area men and women who were members of the Canadian Armed Forces who lost their lives in wars.
Volunteers erected the crosses on Nov. 3.
