Retirement, training deadlines leave Oil Springs without fire chief on July 1

Nine players hit double figures for the Alvinston Killer Bees in an 11-3 home ice win over Six Nations in Northern Premier Hockey League action Saturday.
The teams will play again in Six Nations Nov. 16.
Alvinston is now 7-0 on the season.
Brennan Feasey led the Bees with four goals and a helper and Ethan Lamoureux had five assists. Cameron Krupa and Jamie Fraser each scored twice for Alvinston who had period leads of 5-1 and 9-3.
Kraig Wright, Sheldon Thompson and Cameron Rombouts also scored the Bees. Jeff King and Brandon Coutu each had three assists.
Kaden Fulcher stopped 35 shots for the goaltending victory. Alvinston outshot Six Nations, 44-38.
Ex-Sarnia Sting Theo Hill had one of the goals for the visitors.
Alvinston also signed winger Brandon Glover who most recently played senior hockey in Stratford in 2021-22. He didn’t play this weekend.
