What’s in a name? Petrolia looks for help naming park containing new soccer field

The Town of Petrolia wants some help naming its new soccer fields.
Construction started on the field beside the Y in 2024 and will be ready for use in 2026. The town will need to have a new address for the 9-1-1 system and thought a new name would be a good idea.
Staff originally suggested Heritage Park, after the Oil Heritage District Community Centre, used before the Y began operating the centre.
Council wasn’t hyped about the name and asked that the community be consulted.
You can submit your suggestion for a name for the Tank Street property by going to the town’s Facebook page and clicking on the survey link.
Once the name is chosen a new address will be assigned to the property.
