The Petrolia Oilers Four Counties under-11 team won the Hockey is Fun hockey tournament in Alliston over the weekend. The Oilers won five straight games including a 1-0 shootout win in the championship contest.

The Lambton Attack won the finalists banner in the under-15 C division at the Saugeen Shores Silver Stick girls’ finals in Port Elgin last weekend.
The Attack went 4-0 in the preliminary round and then edged St. Thomas, 1-0 in the semi-finals. The South Bruce Blades beat the Attack, 2-1 in the final.

Addison Murphy-Rodgers got the party started with his first goal of the season Dec. 11 to bring down the winter wear at the annual Sarnia Legionnaires Woolly Toss game at Pat Stapleton Arena.
LaSalle won the game, 5-1. Sarnia lost its 29th consecutive game on Saturday, bowing to the Rockets, 6-2 in Strathroy.
The Legionnaires host Listowel on Thursday.

Grand Bend’s Heath Bogart has signed with the OHL’s Brantford Bulldogs to begin play in the 2026-27 campaign.
The 10th round pick in 2024 from the Huron Perth Lakers will be available as an affiliated player for the balance of this season.
Bogart is playing with Collingwood of the OJHL where he has registered 16 assists in 32 games. He also played for Canada East at the recent World Junior A Challenge in Quebec.

The Alvinston Ice Angels teams won a gold medal, two bronze medals and had a fifth place finish in their flight at a synchronized skating competition in Woodstock.
The Intro Ice Angels won gold while the On the Edge Adult and the Star 4 elementary teams both captured bronze medals.
The Star 8 Pre-Novice team was fifth in its flight and eighth overall in a 15-team competition.

Jonah Wagner and Remi Gorry both had nine points to lead LCCVI to a 53-31 win over North Lambton in LKSSAA junior boys’ basketball in Forest Monday. Xander Knapp and Colten Anjema added eight points each for the Lancers who are now 3-1. Mason Verhoeven had 15 points to lead the Eagles. Ben Willemse had seven points for NLSS who are now 0-3.
The winter high school sports season ends this Thursday and resumes on Jan. 5.

Sarnia-born and Corunna-raised Rob Thomson has signed a new one-year deal to manage the Philadelphia Phillies. Thomson and his team won the National East pennant this past season with 96 wins but lost to the eventual World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS.

Sarnia’s Phoenix Weightlifting won six medals and was named the best junior team at the recent Ontario Youth/Junior Weightlifting Championship in Ottawa.
Corunna’s Jake MacLean, competing in his first competition, won gold in the 65-kilo class while Wyoming’s Marlowe Robinson improved her previous best total by seven kilos in taking top spot in the 63-kilo class. Mikaylie Robinson set a personal clean and jerk record of 57 kilos en route to the gold medal in the 44-kilo competition class followed by her teammate Quinlyn Robinson-Jackson who took the silver. Charlie Sydorko and Joshua MacLachlin won bronze in the 53 and 73-kilo finals respectively.
Competing in his first provincial championship, William MacLachlin was sixth in his weight class.
