Brooke-Alvinston looks for arena donation from Warwick

Brooke-Alvinston council’s bid to get help to pay for the replacement of the arena floor was not met with enthusiasm in neighbouring Warwick Township.
Brooke-Alvinston is planning a $1.9 million replacement of the arena floor this summer and it hopes surrounding municipalities will contribute to the project since its users come from outside the municipality.
A letter from the municipality’s marketing and fundraiser for the arena floor project, Jill Joris, said “This facility has long served as a vital hub for recreation, sport and community gatherings, not only for our residents but also for many families and individuals from Warwick Township.”
Brooke-Alvinston asked for Warwick – which completed its $10 million complex in 2022 – to consider a $75,000 donation to the project.
Warwick councillors received the request without taking any action.
