Alvinston’s River Street was filled with Christmas Lights for the Optimist Club’s annual Christmas celebration Saturday.

The club says over 2,500 people walked through the downtown to visit the vendors, look at the amazing floats like the Alvinston Express, created for the Optimist by Chris Lucan.
Kids got up close with some farm animals.
Other kids were greeted by a Snow Queen.
Some kids saw it all from the train.
Christina McAlpine of Glencoe visited with Santa and Mrs. Claus atop their float at the end of the street.
Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus were trying to keep warm in the barn.
Laura Sortie of Alvinston got up close and personal with a camel.
And a Christmas tree was hung by a crane among a display of light-festooned tractors.
