John Chartrand made 44 saves and Dylan Dupuis played overtime hero as the Mooretown Flags downed Blenheim, 5-4 in the south Chatham-Kent community on Sunday night.

Landon Marcy sent the game to extra time with the equalizer with just under five minutes to play in regulation time.

Recently acquired Ty Therrien scored his first two goals as a Flag and added an assist. Jace Dupuis also scored for Mooretown.

Owen MacDonald drew a trio of assists while Casey Schouten had two helpers.

The win snapped a four-game winless streak and improved the Flags to 14-13-1 on the season.

Mooretown lost 3-2 to Dresden at the Moore Sports Complex Saturday. Chartrand had 35 saves in that contest.  

Marcy and Masen Flett scored for the Flags.  Former Sarnia Legionnaire Colton Graham had a goal and two assists for the Kings.

Mooretown closes out the pre-Christmas portion of its schedule with a home against the Walpole Island Wild on Saturday night. Game is at 7:30.
