December 24, 2025

The Independent

A London man is facing drug trafficking charges after OPP seized over $4 million in drugs in Lambton County.

Tuesday, the Ontario Ministry of Transportation officials inspected a commercial vehicle at the MTO’s scales in Plympton-Wyoming. They called Lambton OPP, which brought in the Community Street Crime Unit and the Border Enforcement Security Task Force around 1:30 pm.

Police found about 137 kilos of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of $4,110,000. Officers also seized Canadian and US currency and other drug-related items.

Harmeet Dhamoom, 43, of London is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and importing cocaine.

Dhamoon is in custody until Dec. 30.

The arrest is the latest in a string of seizures of cocaine coming from the US into Canada. In August alone, border security agents seized 349 kilos of cocaine from commercial transports at the border.

By early December, agents seized 30,791 kg of illegal drugs at the borders. By Oct. 31, border services officers at the Blue Water Bridge seized a total of 1,317 kg of cocaine and 349 kg of methamphetamine from various commercial shipments coming from the United States
