Family moves into Habitat for Humanity home in Forest

The excitement was written all over the faces of Wes Derby, his fiancée Tabatha Jenkins and their children as the family of six walked into their new home Dec. 15.
The couple are the latest people to be part of Habitat for Humanity Sarnia-Lambton’s builds in Forest.
“This home represents far more than walls and a roof; it’s a place where this family will create memories, find security, and thrive for many years to come. We’re honoured to be part of their journey,” said David Waters, CEO, at the key ceremony.
Habitat families invest in their new homes with sweat equity in the building process. Volunteers also help construct the building.
The housing in Forest, including a fourplex which is yet to come, is part of a $368,000 grant from the federal government’s Affordable Housing Fund
