Enniskillen Express win bronze at Provincials

The Enniskillen Express girls’ PWSA team won the under-13 Tier 2 “C” bronze medals at Provincial Grands in
Windsor.
The Express went 5-1 with its only loss to the eventual champions from Waterdown, near Hamilton.
Enniskillen won a trio of one-sided games in round robin play to secure the number one seed for the playoffs. They
beat Cobourg 19-1, Burlington 11-0 and Saugeen Shores 18-4.
In the playoffs, the Express outscored Chatham, 12-8 before bowing 11-8 to Waterdown in the semi-finals. But, they rebounded from a tough loss to outscore Wilmot Thunder Blue 17-13 in the third place game.
Among the highlights was Lyla Boersma reaching 100 strikeouts for the season.
Meantime, the Corunna Lady Giants were in the tier one portion of the same tournament.
They lost three close games by a total of eight runs against much larger centres, including two games against teams from the GTA.
