East Lambton, Mooretown lock up U18 B International Silver Stick titles

East Lambton has captured the North American Silver Stick U18B Tier 2 championship in Forest.

Copper Aarts of the Eagles scored in overtime to beat the Campbellford Colts, 5-4 in the final Sunday. It was East Lambton’s fifth straight win at the weekend event.

And the Mooretown Flags ran the table with five straight wins over the weekend to capture the North American U18B Tier one championship. The Flags blanked Parry Sound, 5-0 in the final Sunday. 

Lambton Shores also competed in that division and went 2-2.

East Lambton’s U15B Tier 2 team made it to the finals in their division bowing 3-2 to the Hamilton-area Glancaster Bombers in their final. Lambton Shores finished 1-3.

Several Lambton players lifted the championship banner as the Southwest Bullets captured the U21 BB division at the North American Silver Stick final in Mooretown on the weekend. Following an opening loss, the Glencoe-based Bullets won four straight games including a 5-4 win over Newcastle in the final Sunday.

The Bullets roster includes Carter Caley and Charlie Verhoeven from Watford, Petrolia’s Shane Knight, Thedford’s Brett Dickey and Dylan Sutherland of Point Edward. Shawn Dickey of Thedford coaches the team.

Mooretown and Lambton Shores also competed in that division. The Flags lost in the semi-finals while the Predators did not qualify for the tournament playoffs.
