Township to study ‘consistent’ speed limits on the St. Clair Parkway

St. Clair Township’s deputy mayor says council is a “laughing stock” of the south end of the community because it can’t figure out what speed limit to set for the St. Clair Parkway.
The comment came after resident Megan Seys asked council to conduct a traffic study to harmonize the speed limits. She noted some residential areas have posted speeds of 50 or 60 km/h while at least one other has an 80 km/h speed limit.
“This inconsistency can create confusion for drivers and increases the risk of excessive speed, especially for those unfamiliar with the area,” she wrote.
Deputy Mayor Steve Miller agreed, asking for the traffic study. “We’re the laughing stock of the south end, because you can’t decide what speed of what we want on that road.
“I think it’s time that we did something about it.”
