Young heading to OFSSA swimming championships for LCCVI

Hayden Young will fly the LCCVI colours at the OFSAA swimming championship in Windsor early next month.

He qualified in the senior boys’ 50 metre butterfly this week at the SWOSSA event, also in Windsor.

Whitney Wilson came within the blink of an eye of also qualifying finishing second in her 100 metre freestyle final by 12/100th of a second.  She also had two other top-five finishes.

The Lancers team also had several other top-ten finishes at the regional meet. They included Leah Stephens, Marnie Sawyer, Yarko Zelenchuk, Ellis Wellington, Emily Cools, Riley Jackson, Molly Thomas, Danielle McKay, Parker Leckie and Elizabeth Kuykendall.

The OFSAA swimming championships will be held on March 3 and 4.
