The LCCVI Lancers gained a measure of revenge with a 3-1 victory over Lambton Kent Composite in the LKSSAA boys’ A/AA hockey final Thursday at Greenwood in Petrolia.
The Dresden school had beaten LCCVI in a shootout in the final last year.
After Marc Simmons had given the visitors a 1-0 lead, Jace Hall and Sam Hayter scored goals less than two minutes apart in the second period to give Petrolia an advantage they would not relinquish. Jacob Davidson added an insurance goal for LCCVI. Emmett Ralph had two assists.
Maxx Mailloux was the winning goaltender.
Former Lambton Jr. Sting goalie Kyler Van Esse took the loss for LKCS.
LCCVI now advances to the SWOSSA final against L’Essor but a time and date has not yet been announced.
