The season has ended for the Petrolia Squires.

The home team fell 4-3 in overtime to Elora at Greenwood Friday.

After, Petrolia won the series opener, the Rocks reeled off four straight wins to take the Ontario Elite Hockey League semi-final in five games.

Friday, after the visitors scored early in each of the first and second periods, Isaac McLean and Corey Pawley scored for the Squires to tie the game at 2 after 40 minutes. Elora took a 3-2 lead in the third, but Pawley’s second goal of the game late in the final frame of regulation sent to the contest to extra time.

Pawley was chosen as Petrolia’s player of the game.

Jacob Black won it for the visitors just under three minutes into the fourth period.

Petrolia ended the season with an overall record of 20-10.

Legionnaires sign two, Flags three for upcoming seasons
