Seven Lancers advance to OFSAA West Regional Track and Field Championship

It was a good day for LCCVI Hurdlers as Kole Chapman, Xander Knapp, Meagan Munro and Kallee Elliott all advanced to the OFSAA West Regional Track and Field Championships.

The four placed in the top five of their respective events at SWOSSAA May 20, giving them a berth in the regional event May 28 and 29 in Cambridge.

Kallee Elliott placed fourth in the Novice Girls 80m hurdles and won the Novice High Jump with a leap of 1.60m to advance.

Kole Chapman also placed first in the Senior Boys 110m Hurdles Wednesday. He races the 400m Hurdles Thursday.

Xander Knapp advances to regionals with a fourth place in the Junior Boys 100m hurdles.

And Meagan Munro was fifth in the Senior Girls 100m Hurdles with a time of 15.12.

Also advancing are:

Rayah Minten after taking the top spot in Novice Girls Shot Put with a throw of 11.42m.

Jonah Wagner after winning his event on day one, leaping 5.56m in the Novice Boys Long Jump.

James Grant advances to regionals after placing third in the 1500m race.

Three athletes from North Lambton moved on to the OFSAA West regional.

Arie Roelands was second in pole vault, jumping 3.40m.

Josh Smith came in fourth with a time of 14.95 seconds in the Boys 100m Intellectual.

Arlee Roder claimed a spot in regionals by finishing fifth in the Novice Girls 400m.

Julia Pegg was the lone athlete to advance from Lambton-Kent, finishing second in Senior Girls High Jump with a leap of 1.57m.

The second and final day of the SWOSSAA Track and Field championships starts at noon on Thursday at Sandwich Secondary School in LaSalle.

Jaylen Helps placed sixth in the Novice Girls shot put with a throw of 9.53m
Rayah Minten placed first in the Novice Girls Shot Pub with a throw of 11.42 m.
