LCCVI, North Lambton to meet in LKSSAA Soccer Finals

It will be a battle of the Lambton county high schools in the LKSSAA soccer finals.

LCCVI and North Lambton will square off in both the senior boys and senior girls ‘AA’ final in Forest on Monday. The boys final begins at 3:30 with the girls final following at 5:00.

North Lambton’s girls team advanced with a 5-0 win over John McGregor in their semifinal on Tuesday afternoon. LCCVI punched their ticket to the final with a 4-1 win over Wallaceburg on Thursday after getting rained out on Tuesday.

Belle Stewart, Caelin Podolinsky, Olivia Minten, and Kenzie Maoirat netted goals for the Lancers in their semifinal victory.

The Eagles boys team continued their perfect season with a 2-0 win in their semifinal against Wallaceburg on Tuesday. The Lancers joined them in the final with a 5-0 road victory over John McGregor.

Gavin Carver scored four times for LCCVI, bringing him up to ten goals in seven games this season. Liam Lahey also found the back of the net for the Lancers.

Elsewhere, Lambton-Kent’s senior boys soccer team capped off a perfect season with a 4-1 win over Tilbury in the LKSSAA ‘A’ final on Thursday afternoon.

Kurtis Smith scored a pair of goals for the Cardinals. Max Taylor and Carter Neve also slotted home goals for Lambton-Kent.

The Cardinals advance to the SWOSSAA ‘A’ final, which will be hosted in Windsor on May 26.
