Walpole Island First Nation senior dies in vehicle recovered from St. Clair River

A senior has died after a vehicle ended up in the St. Clair River.
Just before 3:30 pm, Walpole Island Police were called to River Road along with Lambton OPP, the Walpole Island Fire Department, paramedics, the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre for the a report of a vehicle in the river.
The lone occupant, an 84-year-old from Walpole Island First Nation, was recovered and pronounced dead at the scene.
The OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement are investigating and are looking for people who have witnessed the incident or who may have dash cam video to call them.
