A single in the final inning of the semi-finals by Warren Boersma drove Noah Harse home and gave the Wyoming
Cattlebarons a shot at another OBA Senior Baseball title.
The Wyoming Cattlebarons qualified for the OBA Senior AA baseball championship contest– they just don’t know who they will play, where or when.
After play last weekend in Kincardine, the Barons were one of three teams left in the running and won a coin toss directly to the championship game when the final day was rained out.
New Lowell, near Barrie, and Tecumseh will play a sudden-death semifinal for the right to advance to the gold medal game against Wyoming.
Details for the final two games have not been ironed out.
Meantime, two teams from Mitchell as well as squads from Port Dover and Windsor will play semifinal games at neutral fields this week after rain washed out the final day of the OBA senior B tournament hosted by the Corunna Giants in Courtright last weekend.
A date or location for the championship game has not yet been announced.
The Port Lambton Pirates also played in the B tournament. And the host Port Hope Flyers won the C championship on the weekend. Petrolia and Dresden represented our region at that tournament.
