A player with family ties to Petrolia has been named one of four assistant captains with the OHL Barrie Colts.
Eamon Edgar was handed the honour by the OHL team late last week.
The 16-year-old had seven goals and 19 points in 64 games as a rookie last year.

The goaltender with the most wins in the history of the Mooretown Flags has joined the Alvinston Killer Bees.
John Chartrand has signed with the Bees after registering 70 wins and 10 shutouts over the past four seasons in
the PJHL with the Flags.
He had a 3.10 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage.

The Lambton Attack roared back from a 4-1 deficit to win the U11 A championship banner at the Big Cat Pre-Season Showdown in St. Thomas on the weekend.
The Attack scored three times to force overtime and then scored in the extra period to beat the Sarnia Jr. Lady Sting,
5-4 for the title.
And, the Sarnia Jr. Lady Sting captured the U11 B championship at the same tournament beating St. Marys, 3-2.

The North Lambton Eagles prevailed in the opening game of the LKSSAA high school baseball season Monday defeating Northern, 3-2 in Forest.
LCCVI’s home opener is Sept. 23 against St. Patrick’s at Greenwood at 3 pm.
The Eagles are scheduled to play Great Lakes on Wednesday at Blackwell diamond.
