The Lambton County International Plowing Match has a new leader.
Dave Henderson will lead the group bringing the massive farm show to Lambton County in 2027.
The 2027 IPM was originally planned at the Brigden Fairgrounds. Planning was well underway when the local committee quit saying it would not host the event because a deal was not in place with the Ontario Plowmens’ Association.
The OPA balked at the idea, insisting in July, the event would go on in Lambton. In late August, the OPA announced Clayton and Linda McLauchlin would host the event east of Petrolia.
A news release from the local organizing committee says now that the 2026 event is complete in Bruce County, Lambton officials will be gearing up plans to recruit the hundreds of volunteers needed to run the event which can draw upwards of 70,000 people.
Henderson says organizing and volunteer meetings will be held soon with the committee laying out its plans.
