No one was injured in a house fire on Brigden Road.

St Clair Township firefighters from Brigden, Courtright, Port Lambton, Wilkesport and Becher were called to the home around 8:20 pm Saturday. It was fully engulfed in flames.

“The fire started on the porch and quickly spread to the upper floor,” said St Clair Fire Chief Richard Boyes in a news release.

Firefighters used heavy equipment to reach the upper floor and get access to the roof.

The department deployed its Tanker Shuttle Protocol for a continuous, high-volume water supply to the area.
It was the first time the department used the shuttle protocol. “Having the ability to provide a reliable, sustained water supply in rural areas is critical to our community,” says Boyes.

No injuries were reported, and damage is estimated at $500,000, Boyes. The cause has not been determined.
