Hydro One has a planned outage Sunday from 7 am to 3 pm. Customers affected are in far northeastern Plympton-Wyoming, Kettle and Stony Point, and western Lambton Shores.

About 4,900 Hydro One customers in the Municipality of Lambton Shores and surrounding areas including the areas of Bosanquet, Forest, Kettle and Stony Point First Nation, Port Franks, and Thedford will be part of the outage.

Hydro One encouraged people to prepare for the outage by:

  • Ensure appliances, such as the stove, are in the off position
  • Fully charge cellphones and other devices
  • Use a battery-powered alarm clock or cellphone so morning alarms aren’t missed
  • Keep refrigerator and freezer doors closed as much as possible and use a cooler with ice for items needed during the planned outage
  • If water services will be affected at your home, consider filling jugs of water to use for drinking and cooking
  • If using a generator, remember to use it in a dry area outdoors away from any open windows, doors and vents

Affected Hydro One customers will be notified via an automated phone call or text.

Officials from the Forest Legion has a backup generator and will be open from 11 am to 4 pm to offer food, hospitality, games and comraderie.
