The Petrolia Flyers ended a four-game stretch over six days with a 2-2 record following a 4-3 loss to the Exeter Hawks at Greenwood Sunday.

The game was made up after an early season contest between the teams was called off after two periods due to poor
ice conditions in Petrolia.

After falling down 4-1 through 40 minutes, Ryan Nichols scored twice in the final frame but the Flyers could not find the equalizer.

Noel Sanderson also scored for Petrolia and had an assist. Jace McGrail contributed two assists.

Lambton Jr. Sting grad Callum Besley made 44 saves in the Exeter cage as Petrolia outshot the Hawks, 47-30.

Eric McDonald had 26 stops for the Flyers.

The Flyers had beaten the Sailors, 7-1 in Port Stanley last Tuesday and doubled the Aylmer Spitfires, 6-3 at
home last Thursday. Petrolia was on the wrong end of a 7-3 score to the Trojans in Thamesford last Friday.

Petrolia is home to Mt. Brydges Thursday at 7:30, takes on the Spitfires in Aylmer Friday and plays the Irish in Lucan Saturday.
