The Mooretown Flags have now won four straight games following a 3-1 win over the Blades in Blenheim Sunday.

Mooretown is now 7-7-2 on the PJHL season.

After a scoreless first period, George Bracewell gave the Flags a 1-0 advantage after 40 minutes. Will Harding scored the eventual game-winner with 3:36 left in the third period before a frenzy in the final few seconds of the contest.

The Blades cut the lead to 2-1 inside 15 seconds remaining in the third period before Casey Schouten iced the game with an empty net marker just six seconds after Blenheim’s one and only goal.

Mooretown’s Brock Lane was the first star with 35 saves.

Oct. 30, Mitchell Stack recorded a hat trick to lead the Flags to an 8-4 win over the Wild on Walpole Island.

Thomas Browning-McFeggan and captain Jace Dupuis each scored twice for the Flags and Noah Waybrant added the other. Schouten had two assists.

Mooretown has road games this week in Wheatley and Dresden before hosting Lakeshore at the Moore Sports Complex Saturday. Puck drop is 7:30.

Meantime, 17-year-old forward Wes Robertson will represent the Flags at one of two PJHL top prospect games Saturday. The Western Conference stars take to the ice on Walpole Island at 1 pm.
