It looks like BMX bikers and skateboarders in Wyoming will have a place to ride in 2014.

Plympton-Wyoming Mayor Lonny Napper says council will move ahead on the project in the spring.

Council has been studying the idea for sometime, but were having  problem coming up with a location. Some councilors thought the park should be built at the Bowling Green Park near the railroad tracks.

But council heard from a group of about 20 young residents who were looking for the park to be placed in McKay Park, near the pool and possibly taking up space on the tennis court.

Napper says council will install another cement pad to establish the skateboard/BMX facility. “We’ll put another pad in…because there seems to be lots of use for the tennis courts…McKay Park is a good spot for it.

“We have a group of young people very excited to get started and I can’t see why it can’t be moved forward for the spring.”

Town council has set aside $40,000 for the project. Napper says it could cost about $80,000 to $100,000 to complete.
