Brooklyn Roebuck will head up the entertainment in Petrolia on Canada Day.

 

Petrolia has another fun-filled Canada Day planned for this July 1.

Kids will get an early start – 8 am – with  Kids Fishing Derby at Bridgeview Park until 10 a.m. Kids can also enjoy a story with the Lambton Central Petrolia Optimists during the Storybook Reading Fair from 10 am until noon at Bridgeview Park. The Optimists will also have games for the children between 12:30 and 2pm.

Also at Bridgeview, starting at 3 pm, will be the “hugely popular” Rubber Duck Race.

The Oil Heritage District Community Centre will be hosting a Pool Party from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The adult fun starts a little later with banks playing during “Rocking the Park” starting at 2:30 pm. On stage this year includes Back Up Jenny, The Scotch Prophets and Borderline until 7 pm.

Brooklyn Roebuck, the winner of YTV’s The Next Star competition takes the stage at 7pm. The Chatham-Kent native recently released her first album Storyteller.

And wrapping up the entertainment starting at 8:30 pm is Snakebite a rock ‘n’ rolling country band.

The night will be capped off with fireworks at dusk.

In Brooke-Alvinston, on Canada Day there will be a Kid’s Ball hockey touranment, a Co-ed two-pitch tourney, A firemen relay race live entertainment and fireworks at dusk.

There will also be a Broasted Chicken Dinner in Brooke-Alvinston. Dawn-Euphemia Firefighters will be barbecuing chicken at the firehall starting at 4:30 and Krall Park will be alive with activity during the Chicken Barbecue there starting at 4:30pm.
